If you're anything like me, you're naturally drawn to minimalist style, which doesn't overpower you visually when you walk into a space, but in the same breath is elaborate enough to sufficiently stimulate so that you won't feel as if you've gone through sensory depreviation if you spend an afternoon there. Its a challenging balance to achieve but if its done right, it can create the perfect livable space.
A subset of this minimalist style is the currently exploding new trend known as Japandi, but what exactly is Japandi? I recently read a definition which sums it up quite beautifully:
"Japandi design is the combination of Scandinavian functionality and Japanese rustic minimalism to create a feeling of art, nature, and simplicity. This fusion creates the perfect blend of function and form, focusing on clean lines, bright spaces, and light colors."
The definition alone is enough to get the creative juices flowing and embolden your inner interior designer, but having a look at some good examples of Japandi styling, may just push you over the edge to the point of actually redecorating your space.
Here at Frames Online the natural wood tones so exemplified in Japandi, can be easily recreated buying any of our picture frames or framed art prints and selecting the Natural Pine option. My favourite option is the oversized matboard picture frame with its thin face in natural pine. This is paired so well with soft natural tones found in Japandi.
